ABOUT TREMAINE HOPSON

Born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, Tremaine Hopson’s life story is a powerful testament to perseverance and transformation. Raised by a single mother in a community deeply impacted by poverty and drugs, Tremaine faced the harsh realities of street life from an early age. Despite these challenges, he excelled in athletics, becoming an All-State high school basketball player and graduating from Columbus Africentric Early College High School.

He continued his basketball career at Clark State Community College. However, like many young men navigating difficult environments, Tremaine found it hard to fully break free from the streets and eventually became entangled in the criminal justice system.

The turning point came with the birth of his daughter, a moment that reshaped his outlook and ignited a deeper sense of purpose. Inspired by fatherhood, faith, and a commitment to make a difference, Tremaine redirected his life’s path. Today, he is an entrepreneur, high school basketball coach, and the founder and CEO of Allow Us To Grow, a summer and after-school program designed to uplift and empower youth.

Through mentorship, education, and positive role modeling, the program helps young people overcome adversity and unlock their full potential. Tremaine Hopson’s journey is living proof that your past does not define your future. He is devoted to helping the next generation believe in themselves and realize that they, too, can rise above their circumstances.
